Urban and Suburban
Water Management with respect to quality and conservation in urban and suburban landscape is of continuously growing concern in Oklahoma. This website will highlight the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences research and extension programs related to Urban and suburban water management.
These programs include extension efforts to provide training and education for the use of soil profiling to assess site suitability for septic system requirements and placement.
The treatment of urban runoff using ditch filtration is another on going program which promises to reduce the impact of urban nutrient runoff on surface water quality.
